Barricada appeared between 1979 and 1998 as the official publication of FSLN. It was born in 1979 as an editorial project aimed at promoting the Sandinista revolution. The publication was revived in 2018, following the anti-government riots of that year, by a group of youth supportive of the Sandinista movement and the government of Nicaragua.
