The largest commercial television channel in Serbia has been known for many years as a pro-government channel. Its owner, Zeljko Mitrovic, in the past has received financial support from the government in exchange for friendly coverage of the authorities. Hence, TV Pink has become a staunch supporter of the government.
In recent years it was revealed that the station has not paid taxes. The outlet’s owner regularly receives funds from the government, in the form of subsidies or loans from state agencies, that he uses to keep the station afloat.
