Rossiyskaya Gazeta (Российская газета) is a newspaper owned and published by the Government of Russia, serving as its official gazette. Besides news, the newspaper hosts all official legal documents and statements of the Russian government. It appeared in 1990 and has since grown into one of the largest Russian newspapers by circulation.

Rossiyskaya Gazeta is financed through a combination of advertising revenues and state subsidies. Russian media experts say that it is sure that the state contribution accounts for more than 50% of the newspaper’s expenditure.
