State Media Matrix Typology: Captured Private (CaPr)
In 2019, Media 026, a company owned by Boban Rajic, bought a majority stake in Novosti, the publisher of the newspaper. Vecernje Novosti used to be a state-owned media outlet majority owned by Stamparija Borba, a state-run printing house, from which Media 026 bought the stake. Rajic is a businessman known for his support to the SNS, the party in government. Media 026 also owns 50% of Politika.
