Local journalists and experts interviewed for this report in March 2024 confirm that AKP is fully funded by the government. The agency does not publish financial reports.
Editorial independence
The AKP’s editorial strategy is subject to close government control. The agency refers to the Cambodian Prime Minister in a highly respectful manner.
There is no evidence of statutes that would safeguard the autonomy of journalists affiliated with the AKP. Additionally, there is a lack of an independent evaluation process to verify the editorial independence of the aforementioned journalists.
