The radio channel 100,7 is operated by the public service media organization Média de Service Public 100,7. This organization replaced Établissement de Radiodiffusion Socioculturelle du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg (ERSL) in 2022. Radio 100,7 is a public service radio channel that serves the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. The station airs programs in the local language and focuses on culture and information. It began broadcasting in September 1993.

Ownership and governance
In 1991, Luxembourg’s Electronic Media Act laid down the legal basis for the creation of Établissement de Radiodiffusion Socioculturelle du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg (ERSL). However, in 2022, a new law was passed to replace ERSL with a new company called Média de service public 100,7. According to the new law, Média de service public 100,7 is an independent public entity with legal standing, as well as financial and administrative independence.
According to the legal provisions introduced in 2022, the company is overseen by a board consisting of nine members appointed by a decree from the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Three of these members represent the state, while the other six are proposed by the Board of Directors from civil society. This structure is aimed at securing the broadcaster’s independence. Board members are appointed for a five-year term.
Source of funding and budget
Like its predecessor, Média de service public 100,7 is financed by the government of Luxembourg. The state allocation amount is determined in an agreement between the government and the broadcaster, typically valid for five to ten years.
In 2023, the radio operator received a budget of €6.85 million from the state, according to a government document. Advertising is prohibited on Radio 100.7.
Editorial independence
The government does not impose formal editorial rules that would compromise radio 100,7’s editorial independence. No evidence of government editorial control has been found at radio 100,7 in Luxembourg.
The Law of 12 August 2022, which established Média de service public 100.7, in its Article 6, has a series of provisions aimed at guaranteeing the broadcaster’s editorial independence.
