According to local journalists and experts interviewed for this report in May 2023 and May 2024, UzA is fully financed by the Uzbek government.
According to a budget document obtained by the Media and Journalism Research Center (MJRC), UzA received state budget allocations of UZS 33.7bn (US$2.7 m) and UZS 36.7bn (US$2.9 m) in 2023 and 2024, respectively.
Editorial independence
