National Television of Cambodia (TVK) is the national broadcaster in Cambodia, owned and operated by the government. The broadcaster oversees a network of approximately a dozen radio and television channels. TVK was established in 1966 and has been operating under its current name since 1993.

Ownership and governance
TVK is accountable to and administered by the Ministry of Information, in accordance with the legal provisions set forth in Sub-Decree No. 70 on the regulation of broadcasting in Cambodia.
Source of funding and budget
TVK receives funding from a government subsidy. According to local journalists and experts interviewed for this report in March 2024, the personnel of TVK are on the payroll of the Ministry of Information.
Editorial independence
No statute has been identified that establishes the editorial independence of TVK. The station’s work is closely supervised by the Ministry of Information.
To date, no statute or independent oversight or assessment mechanism to validate TVK’s editorial independence has been identified.
