Naenara

Naenara (내나라, literally “Our Country”) is North Korea’s official government portal, operated by the Korea Computer Center (KCC), a state-run IT institution founded in 1990. KCC also oversees the development of Red Star OS, Naenara’s associated browser, and various IT initiatives.

Since its inception in 1996 as North Korea’s first website, Naenara has functioned as a hub for state-sanctioned publications—aggregating news, commentary, and cultural content. It repackages material from sources such as the Pyongyang Times, Korea magazine, Korea TodayForeign Trade of the DPRK, and KCNA. Naenara is presented in nine languages—including Korean, English, French, Spanish, Russian, German, Chinese, Japanese, and Arabic—broadening its reach across global audiences.
