Each row shows the outlet’s State Media Monitor typology in every cycle from 2022 to 2026; a dashed cell means the outlet was not mapped that year. The U.S. Agency for Global Media — the parent of Voice of America, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, Radio Free Asia and related networks — was reclassified from Independent State-Funded & Managed (ISFM) to State-Controlled (SC) in 2025 following changes to its governance and oversight, and remained State-Controlled in 2026. The Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) exited the dataset in 2025 after changes to its funding and governance. Source: State Media Monitor 2026, MJRC.
