Mondo Inc d.o.o. is a Belgrade media company that publishes the daily newspaper Kurir, operates Kurir Television and publishes news and lifestyle portals and magazines. It was part of Wireless Media Group (WMG), the media group of the businessman Igor Žeželj, and the previous entry of the State Media Monitor covered these operations under the name Wireless Media Group. Telekom Srbija, a telecommunications company in which the Republic of Serbia holds 58.11 per cent, became the majority owner of Mondo on 31 December 2025, and the Business Registers Agency (APR) now lists it as the owner of 100 per cent. WMG remains owned by Žeželj and is not covered by this entry except in the ownership history.

Media assets

Publishing: the current impressum of Kurir names Mondo Inc d.o.o. as its publisher. According to a report of N1 of 12 January 2026 on the APR media register, Mondo Inc is the publisher of the daily Kurir and the portal Kurir.rs, of the newspapers Doktor Kurir and Kurir Stars, of the portals Espreso and Yumama, and of the magazines Elle, Glossy, Lepa i Srećna and Sensa. Raskrikavanje identifies Mondo Inc as the publisher of Kurir and of the Mondo portal.

Television: Televizija Kurir (Kurir Television), of which Mondo Inc is the registered publisher. According to N1, it holds licences for distribution through cable, satellite and IPTV networks, but not for national terrestrial broadcasting.

Discontinued: the publisher announced in January 2024 that National Geographic Srbija would stop publishing in Serbia from that month, and on 22 March 2024 Nova reported that the cooperation with Euractiv on its Serbian portal had ended, the last article having been published on 13 March. The classification applies to the Kurir operation of Mondo Inc, that is the daily Kurir, the portal Kurir.rs and Kurir Television, whose output is assessed below. It does not automatically extend to the other titles of Mondo Inc or to the companies that remain in WMG.

Ownership and governance

According to APR data published by CompanyWall, Mondo Inc d.o.o. is owned 100 per cent by Telekom Srbija a.d., and Saša Milovanović has been its director since 14 September 2026. Nova Ekonomija, citing Nova, reported on 14 September 2026 that Telekom had taken over the remaining 20 per cent of Mondo and appointed Milovanović, a former co-owner and director of Srpski telegraf, as director. The article did not name the seller of the 20 per cent or give a price. On 5 October 2026 Mondo announced that Predrag Roganović had become its executive director. Milovanović remains listed as director in the APR data and in the impressum.

Telekom became the majority owner on 31 December 2025, with 80 per cent against 20 per cent for WMG Media, according to the APR data reported by N1 on 12 January 2026. N1 reported the registered capital associated with the two holdings: RSD 1.76 billion in cash and RSD 1.49 billion in kind for Telekom, and RSD 439.9 million in cash and RSD 373 million in kind for WMG Media. Raskrikavanje reported that the contract between the WMG group and Telekom was signed on 9 January 2025, that according to supporting documents Telekom paid the full price 15 days later, that the amount was not disclosed, and that the holding was registered with APR almost a year later. Raskrikavanje reported on 26 September 2025 that the Commission for Protection of Competition had confirmed to it that it had approved the concentration. In August 2026 Telekom told Nova that it was not selling Mondo or Kurir.

The acquisition followed a contract of 15 October 2018 under which Telekom committed to invest EUR 38 million in Žeželj’s company Wireless Media, with no ownership stake in Mondo. According to Raskrikavanje, Mondo could not be sold without Telekom’s consent, Telekom would recover its investment first in a sale, and after five years Telekom could demand to buy the stake. Three months after the contract Žeželj’s company bought Adria Media Group, the publisher of Kurir, from Aleksandar Rodić. Adria Media Group was merged into Mondo in 2023 and was deleted from the business register in early August 2023. In March 2024 Wireless Media divided its assets and liabilities among new companies, including WMG Media, to which ownership of Mondo passed on 15 March 2024, and WMG Media took over a debt of RSD 3.3 billion, which N1, citing Nova, put at more than EUR 28 million. According to CompanyWall, WMG Media is owned by Wireless Media Group d.o.o., which is owned 100 per cent by Žeželj. N1 reported that the former parent company Wireless Media changed its name to Smart Ventures d.o.o. and is no longer part of Žeželj’s group.

Nova, in an article republished by N1 on 13 January 2026, reported that the media laws adopted in October 2023 allow the state-owned Telekom to establish media, that Transparency Serbia said the acquisition contradicted the commitment to withdraw the state from media, and that the Independent Journalists’ Association of Serbia (NUNS) said it strengthened political influence over editorial policy and that Telekom now owned more than 30 media outlets. The article lists among Telekom’s media Arena Channels Group, which the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media (REM) register lists as the owner of 24 television channels.

APR financial statements (CompanyWall); Raskrikavanje; N1. Information checked to 21 October 2026.

Raskrikavanje, the fact-checking project of the investigative portal KRIK, identified public contracts and grants worth about EUR 168,000 for Mondo in 2024. For 2025 it identified more than EUR 113,000 through public procurement, including EUR 42,500 from Radio-Television of Serbia (RTS) and EUR 17,000 from Pošta Srbije, and EUR 18,700 through three co-financing awards.

Editorial independence

The current impressum of Kurir lists Saša Milovanović as director and Rajko Nedić as editor-in-chief and editor of the print edition, with Zoran Mihajlović as editor-in-chief of the news programme of Kurir Television.

Raskrikavanje counted at least 56 manipulative front-page items in Kurir in 2023, 104 in 2024 and 191 in 2025, which by count placed it fifth, fifth and sixth among the six dailies it examined. For 2023 N1 reported that President Aleksandar Vučić appeared on the front page 198 times, almost always positively. For 2025 Raskrikavanje found that he appeared 236 times, always in a positive light, that more than 90 per cent of the manipulative items were unsigned, the highest share among the six dailies, that almost no phase of the protests was presented as anything other than manipulation, fraud or someone else’s project, that its coverage followed a narrative that suited the authorities, and that its coverage of Vučić amounted to a consistent editorial policy since Žeželj took over the paper. In the monitoring of the Press Council from 1 July to 31 December 2025, Kurir ranked third among nine dailies, with 1,318 violations of the Code of Journalists of Serbia in 811 articles.

The interim report of the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (ODIHR) on the early parliamentary election of 25 October 2026, as reported by N1 on 10 October 2026, questioned the expansion of the pro-ruling party outlets Informer TV and Kurir TV through regional and terrestrial distribution over infrastructure of the state-owned Telekom Srbija. On 25 September 2026, 16 media, journalists’ and civil society organisations asked Telekom Srbija to stop national terrestrial broadcasting by the two channels and asked the REM Council to restore legality. No publicly available editorial independence statute or internal ombudsman of Kurir was identified.

AI and digital policy

No publicly available Mondo Inc or Kurir policy on artificial intelligence (AI) was identified for this update. On 5 June 2026 Ana Marković, the digital media director of Mondo Inc, said at the conference Digital Day that AI supports routine operational tasks, that responsibility for published content remains with people, and that the company invests in staff training and in developing internal tools.

Classification rationale

Mondo Inc is classified CaPu on the combination of ownership by Telekom Srbija, a company majority-owned by the Republic of Serbia, which holds 100 per cent according to APR data, and documented editorial alignment of Kurir with the authorities, shown by the Raskrikavanje counts and the findings of the Press Council. Predominant public funding has not been established: the public contracts and grants identified for Mondo are incomplete and do not show its share of revenue. The classification applies to the defined Mondo Inc operation of Kurir, not to WMG as a whole.
