Ownership and governance
EHA Medya is a media outlet operated by Refleks Medya İletişim A.Ş., a company established in 2018. The outlet was founded with the involvement of Nuh Yılmaz, a former journalist and academic who later is reported by independent researchers to have taken on a clandestine role with the Turkish intelligence agency (MIT).
EHA Medya has reportedly received organizational and logistical support from the Turkuvaz Media Group, a large pro-government media conglomerate. However, even though there are ties—such as shared personnel or cooperation—it has not been formally included in the Turkuvaz Media Group’s legal portfolio. The ownership structure recorded in trade registries includes Refleks Medya İletişim A.Ş. and two named persons: Seyfullah Emin, who is at the same time the digital media coordinator at Turkuvaz, and Doğan Aras.
Source of funding and budget
EHA Medya does not publicly disclose detailed financial statements, budgets, or revenue figures. Journalists, media researchers, and independent analysts interviewed for this report in March 2023, May 2024 and March 2025 reported that EHA Medya is believed to receive funding from direct or indirect support from state institutions.
Editorial independence
From its inception, EHA Medya has been widely seen as aligned with the government of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, with its content frequently supporting government narratives and policies.
There is no formal legal guarantee of editorial independence for EHA Medya. No oversight body or independent internal mechanism has been identified publicly that ensures checks & balances, or protects against political or intelligence-agency influence.
